Master of Science in European Studies offers both thesis and non-thesis graduate programmes. Both programmes provide students with a theory-based understanding of the policies, issues, and institutions of the EU and European integration at large. The programmes also pave the way for the students to implement theoretical knowledge for the rest of their academic and professional lives in practical terms.

 

Courses within the European Studies graduate programme are of two types: must and elective. In order to be eligible for graduation from the programme:

  • For the Master of Science Thesis Programme: The students are required to successfully complete three must courses (EUS502, EUS503 and EUS520) and four elective courses (departmental or non-departmental), with a minimum total of 21 credits, as well as the seminar course (EUS505) by the end of the fourth semester, with a minimum cGPA of 3.00. They are also required to successfully defend Master's Theses latest by the end of the sixth semester.
  • For the Masters non-Thesis Programme: The students are required to successfully complete three must courses (EUS502, EUS503 and EUS520) and seven elective courses (departmental or non-departmental) with a minimum total of 30 credits approved by the Department. They are also required to submit their Term Project by the end of the third semester. All the course load and Term Project should be completed by the end of the third semester.
